Without copying a whole bunch of his message, I just want to say:
Boy, Roddy's explanation is even more complicated than Jeanne's.
Am I just an "old fart" who still believes that trumpet playing just doesn't
have to be this complicated?????
The people who I have studied with and have performed with over all these
years, just don't have these complicated and lengthy ways of explaining how to
play the instrument. Now, I am not saying that people like Roddy and Jeanne
don't help many players. I guess there is more than one way to "skin a
cat," as they say.
I guess, for me again, trumpet playing would not be nearly as much fun if I
had to think about all the things that some teachers do, with regard to how
to get a sound out of a piece of metal.
To each his (or her) own.
