[TPIN] Vivaldi Gloria and Pergolesi Magnificat

The Vivaldi parts are for 1 trumpet in D. There are common editions
about that have the part written out in concert pitch.
But, to make it more confusing, there is a Ricordi edition which has 2
trumpets. To make matters even more interesting, there are a number of
bars in the final chorus removed, so the only orchestral set (which is
for hire only) that will work is the Ricordi one. The alternative is to
have a good librarian to mark up the orchestral pars so it matches the
chorus edition. Don't try to go with Ricordi orchestral parts and a
different vocal score, it'll all end in tears and temper tantrums.
I haven't seen a MS of the work, but the pdf version is a bit naff. The
beaming isn't conducive to playing with a flowing feel, and to have to
read piccolo in A as written is something I've never done! I wonder how
it would feel? Use it to get used to the part, but the supplied part may
well be superior, if the ensemble's librarian has any nouse.
The Pergolesi has not trumpets in it for sure. Bring a book or the score
for rehearsals. ;-)
Cheers
Andy

If memory serves...the part to the Vivaldi was in C.
