I knew Carmine quite well and studied with him. I don't think this 
method really can be taught by anyone but him, it was very personal and 
very much a part of who he was. You can get close but Carmine's presence 
was integral. I only regret that having studieD with him for some 5 
years and then running into chop problems 5 or 10 years later I had gone 
back to him and not to Roy Stevens who nearly ended my trumpet playing 
life for me with that nonsense..................
