In this same series the Mahler 5 is one of the best available.
The Bruckner 7 is also superb

Speaking of Reinhold Friedrich, I just picked up a couple of weeks ago a DVD
of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Claudio Abbado playing Mahler 2.
Mr. Friedrich is the principal trumpeter (and plays incredibly).
Now...Mahler 2 is one of my most favorite pieces of music ever written, and
this recording is nothing short of spectacular.
I recommend all interested parties pick it up immediately. Here is the
