I was already planning to write about my encounter with Jeanne. But,
after reading the account of her trip, I felt it was incumbent upon me
to clarify that she did not just receive get wonderful memories on her
voyage. She brought them as well.

It seems almost redundant to post about a lesson with Jeanne, because
my experience was much like what others have written. However, I have
concluded that you can't overstate how valuable she is to TPIN in
general and to each of us who are stewards of the sound of the
trumpet.

I know there are many on this list who have developed much more
technical proficiency than me, and as such you may not see the value
of visiting a chop doc. What you may not know is that during a lesson
with Jeanne you receive instruction in life, not just in trumpeting.
>From our fruit, cheese and cracker opener, through to the final note
(where, unconsciously I had already begun demonstrating the principles
we covered) I developed mentally, physically and spiritually. I even
got to hear a double C come out of the bell of my trusty King (for 22
years I've been searching for the octave key, and Jeanne found it
during her warm up <smile>). And noticing that said King was past its
best days, she left in my care a horn in that could better facilitate
my development. I don't think a horn comes with each lesson :) but I
am sure Jeanne would offer all at her disposal to help the next person
just as she did for me.

And folks, as a TPIN member taking my first lesson, this was all on
the house. Now I received free offers before, where you get just a
sample. But Jeanne did not hold anything back. She provided enough
instruction and direction to help ensure my success even if we were
never to meet again--though I hope that won't be the case!

To top it all off, she came to me (just 5 subway stops away). If
you're within 24 hours of Jeanne, by plain, train, or automobile, you
owe it to yourself to take advantage of her tutilege.
