Everyone should give themselves considerably more time to explore what is
possible with this powerful program. You haven't even scratched the surface!
There is no Arbans. The French stuff is hard to get permission to use and
most of Arbans in unaccompanied anyway. A colleague of mine published a book
with Balqhuidder Music (great company) and we are working to get those put
into SmartMusic format. There is a TON of intermediate solo material!!
Several solo collections and a great many individual pieces. There are
contest pieces by grade as well.
Unfortunatley, the abersold stuff in SM isn't better than the CD's except
you can change tempo and key to anything you like. Band in a Box is a much
better jazz accompaniment program so far, but Make Music is working on it.
You have to put in the time to explore what is possible and how to control
the program. It is very powerful once you learn how. Check out the exercise
areas for practicing technical studies... Check out the intonation area ..
Also, if you have Finale, you can make your OWN SmartMusic accomps.
