[TPIN] R.R. Mute---what is it?

Hello all,

Last night our big band pulled up an old stock arrangement (I think it was Perfidia, but it may
have been another tune). I think it was published in 1933.

Anyway, both the trumpets and trombones were required to use a "R.R. Mute" throughout the tune. No
one had ever heard of an R.R. Mute before, so we all opted for cups. Does anyone have any idea
what an R.R. Mute is?

Rail Road?
Roy Roman?
Ricky Rachman?

Thanks,
Lenny B.
