Dear S.M.M.,

We have all had really down times in this business of trumpet-playing.
Be glad to talk to you more about this off-list.
Email me at info at trumpetworkspress.com. I am an internationally
known stage fright and mental aspects of performing
consultant and also a player who has studied with Bud Herseth and
Arnold Jacobs since 1994 as well as William Scarlett
from the Chicago Symphony's legendary brass section.

My website is www.trumpetworkspress.com. I have written a book on the
subject whose title appears below. I have helped
hundreds of amateurs and professionals across the world since my book
came out. I would be glad to help you if you wish.

I used to suffer from terrible stage fright and faulty thinking while
playing but between the help of my teachers and my research
at the University of Chicago in graduate school on the subject, I have
had no stage fright for 7 plus years. I have played under
Leonard Slatkin and Eric Kunzel and have been a member of the Ravinia
Festival Orchestra playing with members of the Chicago Symphony.

Be glad to help if you need it. I do consultations with players from
around the world. Many of my students have won symphony auditions.
You might also want to check out my monthly column in the Overture
called Ask Mike! the LA Local 47 union paper.

Best,

Michael Goode
