A few thoughts:

1. Change your target audience. Play for the L-rd and for your own pleasure

2. Remind the deacon that the trumpet is used to wake the dead.

3. Find some other musicians to play with, perhaps even perform with. They

can be encouraged or discouraged, just try to find at least one who is an

encourager.

4. By all means keep participating on TPIN. There is a healthy dose of

daily encouragement about trumpet, golf, .... well when it comes down to

it, it's about life. Not to mention, you meet people from all around the

world, of course, you've already noticed that part :)

5. Keep thick skin and a sense of humor.

6. If you feel antagonized, look for ways to heap coals of fire on the

heads of your antagonizers.
