Thanks for the kind words.

Changing churches is not an option right now.

The senior pastor (I'm the part-time Associate Pastor) became ill the first
of last month and nearly died of a bacterial infection, which paralyzed his
intestinal tract, which caused bleeding ulcers, which caused a perforation,
which caused peritonitis . . . etc., etc. I've taken over all the services,
planning for special events, day-to-day operations, and whatever else
requires pastoral input. This in addition to my day job (I'm trying to
become an HVAC apprentice to support my service to the church).

All that to say I won't leave this flock until their shepherd is back or until
they call a new man. I have decided, due in part to all the encouragement
from TPIN'ers, to keep practicing and playing. I'll be looking for other
opportunities to perform.

I may see about playing for the inmates in a nearby prison. Believe it or
not that would really, really make me nervous. They have their own praise
band and even though their style isn't my cup of tea they are top notch
musicians. Their trumpet player is an excellent jazz player.

Thanks again for the encouragement.

Stephan
