I have been using the bag Byron Stripling promotes, the Torpedo Bag, for a couple of years now when I travel, which for a few years was every week. It is extremely protective and is considered a personal item (item #2) when boarding airplanes if you use the back straps. I have seen an ad where they put one under each rear wheel of a Toyota Camry and drive up on them!!! Never tried that, but I have stood on mine with no problem.
It has an exterior pouch that holds 1/4 - 3/8 thick stack of music and a padded, zippered pouch that sits between the bell and the zippered closure for glasses, oil, mouthpiece etc.. My only criticism is that the exterior zipper doesn't latch and if you end up checking it for some reason the zipper could work loose. Never happened or even came close to happening to me, but makes me nervous. Prior to the increased security measures I used a luggage lock to keep the 2 zipper tabs together, but now they will cut that off so I use a disposable twist tie. They usually leave that alone, but I've only checked it 3 or 4 times, so "your mileage may vary".
HTH!

I've done a bit of research on the web and am considering the Protec Xtreme Pro Pac Trumpet Case. Do any of you have this bag and what are your impressions? Any other suggestions for single bag/cases for the trumpet?
