Bill's pick is a great one. Often overlooked may be out of print. The
Janacek Sinfonietta with Chicago and Ozawa is tremendous music and
marvelous brass section playing.

After Reiner left Chicago, the orchestra didn't like anybody that came
to conduct(supposedly) and wouldn't really play inspired performances.(Also
read, They wouldn't play for anybody). Then came the very young Seiji
Ozawa. This was 1960. The orchestra came alive again and the performance(
on Angel Records) is magnificent. This was the same legendary Reiner
Chicago bunch under a young inspiring conductor. If you can find it, it is
a gem. The other piece on the record is Lutoslowski which is also fine
music. It is worth searching for. Maybe it has been re-released?
