When I was in service, and it always seemed to me pulling bugler duty, would 
pull practical jokes just before playing Taps to freak out the MP dispatcher 
by starting with Taps and going into Strangers In The Night or some such 
tune One Note Samba. We'd be sitting in the car playing into the mike and 
they'd usually start yelling "you're early, what's that...." It's no wonder 
I never made it very far up the pay scale, eh?

Hey was anybody in 8th Army Band, Seoul, Korea?  That's where I ended up 
after WO tried sending me to Vietnam. Went there from the Ft. Belvoir Band 
in 1969.
