[TPIN] Good or bad,..here it is

Wow Jeff..:) Thanks so much for the input and info..:) This is exactly
what I thought would be cool. Unless it offends someone, I would rather
keep things here in the group in hope some lurker may learn. For the
others, they can delete the thread. If this gets out of hand, I'm sure
it'll be shut down...:)

I love the transcribing idea and have done that before. I usually spend my
free time in between sets transcribing chords. I've been working on my
chords recognition and I know it comes with practice. I felt I did a lot
better when I could "hear" what was coming at me. In this situation, the
monitors are off, we're surrounded by foam, and there's plexy between the
horns and the drums about 4 feet above my head. I like it this way as I am
forced to read the chords instead of relying on my ear.

As far as listening, when I am on my com, I almost always have jazzplayer
radio going. I carry a little cd book of about 15 cd's and put one guy in
them. These I change out each month.

My problem is mainly time. Literal time in my life. I jam in as much
trumpet when the fam isn't around plus I just had my first day off in about
three months. Taking the horn off my face it leave me to write and listen.

Thanks for the kudos and info again..:) I look forward to getting more out
of this.
Jon Trimble
