Man that is sooo awesome. Yes I've had conciderable trouble trying to keep from the dixie style. Guess I need to get out the Hubbard records again eh? Yes I'm on the Showboat Branson Belle and corny cheese it pretty big in Branson. Recordings of this band are mixed a bit as where one day we had a different drummer and I think might have had a different bone player too. There's 2 bands and 2 casts so it gets mixed up a bit with the members depending on what vacation days are needed.

Thanks so much for your honesty and again would like to state there is no ego here. I will take ANY and ALL critiques. It is what it is and I can't be offended by that. I'm pretty sure I'll be hearing some repeats of what Bill Caldwell and Jay Daversa have already told me but it's always good to hear them again.

Thanks guys..:)

  Hi Jon;
  Since you asked for critiques and help, I'll offer a few pointers. Like Jeff said, nothing you are doing is bad harmonically. I think you could be hipper with the style though. It sounds like you're playing dixieland.
  I know that you're on a ship or something in Branson and it may be kind of a corny gig anyway, but the band sounds cool so you need to play in a more modern style.
  Try listening and playing along with Miles, Freddie, Brecker, Nick Payton, Roy Hargrove.
  One thing I like to do is take an artist like Freddie and listen to ONLY Freddie for 3 months. Play ONLY Freddie solos. See what happens.
