I don't have personal experience with this, but
I'll reply anyway.  :)

I prefer the sound of tuba in a brass quintet,
and I think most quintet music was written with
its sound in mind.

As good as the American Brass Quintet is, I would
like its sound even better with Tuba instead
of Bass Trombone.

Just my opinion, though.
