All this talk of Mechanized Trumpets and Multiple Bell Brass Instruments
makes me think of the old Dr. Seuss TV Shows....

It also makes me think of the Simpson's where a bunch of dysfunctional
people might actually be able to play trumpet. I appreciate science and
technology, but trumpet playing should be left to remain what it is from the
get go - an ART! It's all well and good to have that 'perfect' trumpet. But
there's one fly in the ointment - it ain't going to be the perfect trumpet
if the player isn't perfect when he or she puts the horn up to their face.
I've heard some fine players (Bart) that can work well with these
instruments, but they haven't loss sight of the fact that a trumpet is a
trumpet, is a trumpet, is a trumpet and not a toy of amusement. What's next
to be obsolete and will go by way of the milkman and the mailman ...ear
training???????
