[TPIN] Bass trombone (for tuba) in a brass quintet?

Brian F., regarding the conical sound and a brass group, PJB I think
experimented with some of that to good effect in the old days. I have
LPs with some of that on it. I didn't know what it wasw at the time, but
have come to understand they were using cornets and conical instruments.
And, I thought it was effective, neat, and provided a good contrast to
their other stuff.
