you have to be careful to get the clips in the bell notch.

As far as the H & B bucket, from jump street the rivets that hold the clips
to the mute all gave way. But not all was lost, as I simply drilled out the
broken rivets and replaced them with bolts and nuts. You'll have to tear
away the gauze to place and tighten the nuts; but with a little Elmer's Glue
on the gauze, it held fast to the bucket. Not a big deal at all. No
experience with the bell bucket though nor any with the one that slips over
the bell. I discovered another nice sounding alternative. When I bought a
set of Bose headphones, it came in a neoprene lined cloth bag. Perfect size
for a trumpet and works pretty well. While a Royal Crown bag is the bag of
choice for players, the Bose bag is less edgy and more bucket like sounding.
Of course the cost isn't cheap since the phones run about $130. But there
again, you also get a great set of headphones. Or the old standby - a felt
derby hat (not one of those fiber H & B ones). No problem of transporting it
to the gig. Rather than trying to stuff it in your mute case, put it on your
head. Besides sounding good, the ladies love it when you walk in wearing the
hat.
