Band-In-A-Box will do this if you can get the .wav or .aiff file in MIDI
format. There are several programs that advertise the ability to accomplish
the latter, such as "TS Audio-to-Midi," but I have never had much luck using
these programs. The TS-Audio-to-Midi program has the ability to clip out
certain frequencies, so that you can try to zero in on a particular
instruments... Say a trumpet, :-) but my own personal experience has been
disappointing. I work with a guitarist/vocalist who does everything in the,
ahem, "wrong" key, so I would really love to find such a tool if others are
aware of one. I'll be eagerly watching this thread for better solutions
than those that I have found.

Subject: [TPIN] Auto Transcription Software
I've received a couple of requests this week for sheet music of two of the
arrangements on my recently released Christmas CD. I did most of the
arranging in my head. So, I haven't gotten them on paper yet.
Is anyone aware of software that can transcribe an audio file (.wav or
.aiff) into notation software?
