All, 

The response to this issue has been fantastic. I am very appreciative of all the support that list members are willing to give.

Lots have asked many questions... Let me try to answer here. 

1. I don't know the approximate costs until I meet with my IT guy. They are swamped right now, so I'm not sure when it will happen. I hope by Friday.

2. I've decided to not go with a lottery for a trumpet to raise the money. I think we will raise enough in small donations to make it happen.

3. One of the advantages of going with a new server will be that we can purchase something that is completely compatible with the other university servers. This will make administration and maintenance easier and more reliable.

4. There is no need to send any money yet. 

5. When the time comes you will be able to contribute via PayPal or send a check. 

I started by replying individually to everyone who emailed an offer to contribute, but just can't keep up.
