This is an excellent list and all students and hobbists should read it.
Good job Michael.

This got me thinking about the dry mouth issue. I battle it constantly
due to antihistimines for my allergies and Prilosec for acid reflux
disorder. I wanted to share something I recently learned that may be
of help to some of the older people in the list. I did a bit a reading
on several sites and there seemed to be a recurring reference to not
only avoiding sugar, but rinsing with a floride (more important to acid
reflux folks because of enamel erosion from stomach acid), sugarless
mouthwash (I am trying ACT Restoring Anticavity)- and/or getting some
sugarless candy. Haven't tried it during the day for playing yet, but
rinsing before bed really seemed to help the nighttime dessert mouth I
used to wake up with.

Another trick listed was to take frequent drinks of water. Apparently
how often you drink is at least as important as how much you drink.
Nothing worse than getting at the audition/performance and all that
water wanting to "exit, stage left" during the event!
