[TPIN] Question about C Trumpets

Greetings fellow trumpeters! I am a trumpet player returning to music after
a 16-year hiatus, and I have recently subscribed to this list. After
reading comments and ideas for a couple of weeks, I'm certain I can get some
good input from some of you on a question I have. Here goes...

I have a Bach C trumpet with the following specs:
- Large bore
- 229 bell
- 25H lead pipe

I like the sound of this instrument, but its intonation qualities drive me
crazy. Low Es, As, and even Fs are terribly sharp and the D, Eb, and E at
the top of the staff are so flat that I never play them without using
alternate fingerings. I've been thinking about selling this horn and buying
another one, and that leads me to my question. I have not paid any
attention at all to the trumpet world (aside from listening to music) over
the past 16 years. Are there C trumpets out there today that have better
intonation characteristics than the Bach version I currently own? I play a
Ken Larson (Brasswerks) modified Bach Bb for "legit playing" that I really
like, and I've been considering sending him my C trumpet, too, but I'm
thinking that maybe I should just get a different horn.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Best Regards,
Mark
