[TPIN] MF Band

You know, the greatest pleasure I have is playing young trumpet players 
who only know the stuff MF did after 1980, the stuff he did in the 50s.  
One, who aspires to be a jazz player, had to pick up his jaw after I 
played him the Jam Session with Clarke, Clifford and MF.  He had no idea 
MF could play jazz (and had never heard of Clarke or Clifford).  Of 
course, he knew where his bread was buttered and even though there 
are/were people who played higher than him, not many people come close 
to having the energy and excitement he could get from his sound.  Three 
More Foxes is one of my favorite old MF things - and there are a LOT of 
recordings of him doing that chart with different people.

I think there is a generation waiting to be turned on to this music... 
we just have to expose them to it :)
