[TPIN] Adults playing in student productions

I'm familiar with some like that, but I'm familiar with many that aren't.
The drama and choral department is separate from the band in some schools.
It may or may not be "healthy" but that's the way it is in some places.

I play several times a year at a school near me. The choral/drama director
does not correlate with the band director. He simply, at some point,
basically says, "Here's what we're doing this year." Many times, it's music
the high school players can't handle, so they call in ringers (hey, I must
have a high opinion of myself. I just called myself a ringer).

I have no idea if that's a good thing or bad thing. I'm not involved in it
other than showing up to play. I'm just saying, it is actually that way in
some places.
