[TPIN] Educational double speak - tied into trumpet.......

I actually sent my last message right before Michael shut down this  topic.
To tie it all into what WE do as trumpet players, Rick was expecting non  
educators to know all about the tests that are going on today, and was using  
(and I repeat) a lot of educational double talk to make excuses for why music  
teachers in some cases, aren't doing the job that they are paid to  do.
Would we as trumpet players, expect non-musicians - or even musicians who  
play other instruments, to understand about such things as: free buzzing, or lip 
 slurs, or double tonguing, or even double C?  When discussing trumpet  
playing with non trumpet players, we must explain ourselves in a different  manner, 
than when talking with other trumpet players.
Rick's very verbose statements about education really did remind me of  
school board meetings that I have attended, where the administrators really do  
talk like that to try to confuse their adversaries.
OK - I will "let it go" now...............................
