<RANT MODE ON>
As music and trumpet teachers we all are compelled from
time to time deal with teachers (i.e. educators) and adminstrators.
The education establishment as a whole deliberately uses
pretentious language to appear to be saying *something* when
in fact *nothing* is being said. I am a former teacher
who has suffered much in education courses.
This is not the same sort of use of technical language
(with which I am very familiar) one encounters in other
professions where such language is well defined and has precise
meaning. Educational jargon is used to create the illusion
of scholarship without the its substance. Educational jargonists
missapropriate technical sounding language from other disciplines
to create a wall between themselves and a questioning public.
Language can be used for communication or avoiding communication.
Beware of those "facilitators" who employ the word "utilize" rather than
"use", who speak glibbly of paradigms, processes, and outcomes.
Those who make complex nouns of simple verbs, and complex verbs
of simple nouns
<RANT MODE OFF>
"let your yes be yes and your no be no."
