Music is   Mathematics, it is rhythmically based on the subdivision of time that is
done instantaneously which we dont work out on paper
Music is   a Foreign Language where all of the terms we use are in French, Italian
and German where the notation is a highly developed kind of hieroglyphics which
uses various symbols in representing ideas...making it an absolute Universal
language.
Music is   Science which is exact and most specific. The conductor's score is
nothing but a chart, a kind of graph indicating melodies,harmonies,dynamics,
intensities all at once with complete control of time. 
Music is   History.reflecting the times of its creation even the country, the environment
and racial background .
Music is  Physical ed which requires coordination of arms,fingers,hands,controlling
the diaphragm,lips, back, cheeks,tongue chest muscles...all of this must respond
instantly to what our ears hear and to what the mind will interpret...
Music is All of this and most importantly  Music is an ART. We take all  of the above ,
all of these techniques  creating feelings and emotions..This is something that the highest,technology of science will never be able to duplicate, that of feelings, emotion,
etc  it is called HUMANISM....it helps people to recognize beauty,sensitivity,,lovr,
compassion; All of this will bring us closer to an infinit of sprituality beyond this
world that we live in.
One last comment I would like to add is that music has been found [ by many 
researchers] who  are convinced that the power of music promotes healing and enhances the quality of our lives. It helps to develop muscles, physical coordination, a sense of timing; mental concentraton,memory skills,vision, hearing and stress control..
Anyone who has heard a nostalgic love song knows how music influences our moods.
