Great article.
Interesting tidbit: What it says of Nick in terms of playing, perfect pitch,
photographic memory, etc., was also true of his father, Tony Marchione. It
says in the article that Tony was "classically trained" - while this is
certainy true (he went to Curtis, and recorded with the Columbia Symphony) -
it should be noted that Tony could play *anything* (any style), very well -
and was also a gifted and dedicated teacher. Nick's mother is also an
extraordinary talented pianist. His older brother, Alexander, is a genius
(now a chemist, I believe) and his sister went to Curtis as a clarinet
major...
This is an "uber-talented" family.

Heard Nick Marchione play lead with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra on Saturday
night at UMass Amherst. What a player. Here's a nice article and photo:

The Vanguard band is as good as ever. The trumpets were outstanding:
Marchione, Frank Greene, Rich Vitale, and Scott Wendholt.
