Probably the best horn I've tried in the past year or
so has been a Getzen Custom Series cornet in C.
It's not often I would use a C cornet, but if I were
an orchestra pro I would have one of these.
This is a friend's horn, and I played it only
briefly, but it was astonishly good. As I played
the Petrushka "Ballerina's Dance" I thought,
"This is cheating." It made it that easy. I could
move from note to note so easily and with such
accuracy, and the sound was great.

I played another one later at the local store, and
it was not as good, but my friend's horn is just
amazing.

I would probably only use this for classical
specialy works, since I have a very nice Schilke
XA-1 that I use for concert band.
