Although it really won't help you much, I do have to mention Harry Connick Jr.'s
practice of having the guys read off computer monitors instead of sheet music.
He can punch a few keys and everybody, even the trombones, have the right chart
up and it doesn't have pencil marks (and saliva smudges) all over it.
He's known for writing up an arrangement on the bus and punching it up for the
band to read on the next gig.
