Been there, done that. No go.
This horn simply has clumsy valves. What I've found is that the best remedy
is to simply keep them as clean as possible, and use a fairly light oil, but
frequently.
Like I told Ron - I've no problem with my fingers (never have really). Some
horns simply have certain characteristics, and on this particular Bach Bb,
the valves are problematic. Might be due to lack of attention on my part
when I broke it in 27 years ago. Definitely time for a change!
Cheers,
- da

This gives me an idea....Why not take a trumpet and put extra heavy springs
under the valves, above the bottom valve caps....Springs that are so stiff
that it is a real effort to press the valves down, and by playing exercises
on it, you will build up the strength in your fingers, just like a baseball
player swings three or four bats, so that when you have to go to bat at a
gig, you will be able to play faster.
