I couldn't help but note the irony in this post. If you only visit American 
manufacturers or hear performances of American trumpeters then of course your 
favourites will be American. It's a bit like someone from Boise, Idaho, (to 
pick a random example) saying "well, I've never needed to listen to trumpet 
players from outside Boise, Idaho, because my favourite players are from 
Boise, Idaho". But if you open your minds you will find there is a whole 
wonderful world out there. I don't disagree that some of the best 
manufacturers are American (I myself own 2 Bachs) and there are some 
excellent American players - but there are some wonderful players who are not 
American, you know. If you are a classical fan you might be missing the 
delights of players like Maurice Murphy, Maurice Andre, Konradin Groth, Haken 
Hardenberger, John Wallace, Sergei Nakariakov, Timofei Dokshizer, Alison 
Balsom, Crispian Steele-Perkins, to name just a few. I'm sure similar lists 
could be compiled for other genres.
