     You forgot Michael Laird, who did an absolutely  wonderful job with 
Pinnock's recording of the Brandenburg 2nd...:-) 
 
     Classical music is more "internationalized" these  days, and Britain is 
a"hotspot" for educating/producing good players. 
 
     And (off the topic) the BBC's recording library  has some real gems- a 
fistful of which have been released on the "BBC Legends"  label. Among the 
un-released there sits a Mahler 5 conducted by Jascha  Horenstein- late '60's with 
the Halle I think... who would've been the Halle's  principal trumpet back in 
those days?
