Anyone know why Maynard never wrote a book on embrochure developement?

Of all people, HE would have been the de-facto expert on his method of
playing. All anyone else can do is speculate.
Granted, he took many a player in under his wing on the tour bus, but why
never publish?

I always thought the picture on that back of the M.F. Horn/3 album sort of
summed up Maynard's embouchure technique.  Of David Hickman's "4 Ps," I'd
say one of those "Ps" was a wee bit over emphasized.  <grin>  ("Pressure"
for those who don't have the album.  Drop me a private e-mail and I'll scan
it in for you, if you want.  It's an amazing picture!)
