horns, and I've picked up some good  used horns for friends there for pretty 
cheap.  Not $75 cheap, but in  the couple hundred dollar range... and while 
they didn't look pretty, they  played well.

I was thinking along the same lines.  You wouldn't want a young person  
playing on a $75 horn.  Spend at least $200 and get something that is  worthwhile.  
It will pay off in the long run.
