A short time ago, the topic of leukemia and trumpet came up and I mentioned my 12 year old student who suffers from it.
Some asked to follow up on him, so here it is.
I just finished teaching a music camp and suggested to David and his parents that he attend. I had a brass class and each student got to
play a solo piece in a small concert at the end.
So David climbed the stairs on his crutches with trumpet in one hand. He is so frail he can't carry the case or even open it himself. He's also never really played in front of people before
He propped himself up on the crutches and played Brahms' Lullaby(who wrote Brahms' Lullaby???) perfectly and sounded great. He got a rousing applause at the end.
I was really proud and fighting back the tears and David was very happy. He wanted to play again at the finally concert.
Thanks for your support.
