[TPIN] can't believe I have to/credibility/discussion

I do my best to stay clear of flame posts and the often resultant flame
wars. My biggest complaint with the forums that I read and respond to is the
need for members to learn the art of the 'SNIP'. As time passes and more
people respond, the posts tend to be top heavy when often, quotes are triple
and quadruple pasted. After a while, it's confusing where I don't know who
actually said what because it all gets lumped into one humongous and
confusing mess. Many people have been unfairly misquoted and subsequently
flamed because of poor editing skills. May I suggest (again) that if a
writer wants to reply to a post or a specific part of the post, all that's
necessary is to quote a few words of the original for the sake of getting to
the gist of things and then comment to your heart's content. It's easy
enough to backtrack to the original post in order for one to review the 'big
picture'. Much can be lost in the translation when you have to do endless
scrolling in order to read the post through. Just my 2 cents plain.
