[TPIN] Air Escapes Through Nose

I have just started teaching an eighth grader who shows real potential.
He has been playing for 2 years. He asked me in his lesson yesterday
what to do about the air that escapes through his nose when he plays? I
asked if he was sure that is what is happening and he said yes. As he
plays from C2 to G2 is when he feels this air escape, he had been able
to play up to C3 but this summer had braces put on and this has hurt his
range. Has anyone experienced this situation with them self or other
players? Any advise is welcome.
