[TPIN] - Warning "Lip twisting ismythology!"-TPIN community recommendation

I think we are missing the point a bit here.  First of 
all, we don't really know what the guy meant by "twisting" 
his lip, or really, just what he was doing.  The fact that 
he would mention it as a secret to his success is really 
the interesting thing about this thread.  Many if not most 
of us have asymetrical lips and protruding teeth.  The 
original post mentioned a very unusual lip shape. While 
I've never used the word "twist" to describe embouchure 
formation, I know I could never play the trumpet without 
some uniqueness to the way I set my lips together when I 
play.  It isn't something that can or should be taught, 
necessarily.  But there are unique features to everyone's 
embouchure that will develop in order to compensate for 
their unique physical features.  We have to recognize the 
difference between general principles or "master keys" 
that will help everyone vs. individual quirks.

When a good player(especially one with a unique set up) 
without a teaching track record gets a soapbox, look out!
For example, if you don't have a gap between your front 
teeth, you probably can't play with a clenched jaw, go 
figure!
