Come on Folks! The talk about quitting the horn and
such is a joke! 

It's true, young prodigies tend to burn themselves out
at an early age, but a few didn't. Most notable:
Shirley Temple!

I bet you didn't know that teen idol Frankie Avalon
was a young trumpet star?? Introduced to the world on
his TV show by Paul Whiteman (you should know who he
was - Bix and such).

Let's just hope his parents let him be himself,
nurture him and give him the emotional support, keep
the 'handlers' away, and maybe Geoffrey Gallante might
be the next Maynard.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and wish him luck!! He
is giving every one of us a valuable lesson: How much
fun it is to play trumpet (in his case) cornet.

Can we close the book on this one???
