Re: 25S Leadpipe on Bach C

A number of years ago, I had a Bach C large bore with a 25S leadpipe
on it and had nothing but trouble with it. Intonation was impossible.
I called Bach and they told me that this was a big problem with the
25S pipe so I stopped using it and put a 25H pipe on it instead which
worked fine. A lot of my other colleagues had the same problem and
switched to other pipes. I know Charles Schlueter used this pipe but
I don't know whether he had other things modified on his C it would
play in tune. Maybe somebody on TPIN has more details on how he was
able to use this pipe. Bach had so many complaints about this pipe
that they stopped making it according to Ted Waggoner of Bach. Does
anybody know whether they started making this pipe again? Gregg, is
the 25S pipe you are thinking of getting an older verson? If it is, I
would beware.
