Steve and All,

This sounds like a good project.

I thought I would take this opportunity to update everyone on our progress
toward the Leon Merian tribute project from TPIN.

Our plan is to produce a CD of Leon's playing to raise funds to support an
ITG Conference Scholarship in Leon's name. Not only will we take donations
for the CD, we will will take any donation for the scholarship in his name.
It is our hope to raise enough money to sustain one scholarship every year
from investment proceeds alone.

I have appointed a committee of current TPIN members to organize and realize
this project. The committee is chaired by Bryan Edgett and also includes
Steve Evans, Bill Bridge, Mike Vax and myself.

We are currently going through all of the recordings of Leon Bill has and
hope to have our selections done in the next couple of weeks.

It is going to take us awhile to get everything done to release this CD and
we will need to raise some "seed money" to be able to have the CD mastered
and replicated. We will setup a PayPal account for donations soon and it is
our hope that TPINers will step forward and give to the fund. We have
decided to no apply for a 5013c non-profit status, so I'm afraid the
donations will not be tax deductible.
