What's the trick to playing in the cold?

If blowing warm air in your horn isn't an option, I know some symphonic 
players who have built a small frame around their horn stand and covered it 
with cloth.  Putting a low powered light bulb inside will keep the horn 
warm.  Another way, get a casing shroud and put a chemical heat pack on the 
outside with velcro when not playing.  Cover with a towel or anything that 
covers all the way to the floor.
