[TPIN] Playing in the Cold

This past April I played an outdoor processional on Good Friday. The
processional was around an hour long in bitterly cold weather. I
could feel the bore of my trumpet getting gradually smaller and
smaller as ice built up in the horn. During a break in the playing
the trumpeter next to me took out a valve and showed me the ice that
had formed in the ports making his horn unplayable. Thank goodness I
was using Zaja oil so my valves worked fine. Sometimes all you can do
is laugh through chattering teeth.

This year Good Friday is in March. Yipes!
