Au contraire, mon frere! The proper equipment is essential for one to
maximize their efficiency. To look solely to a mouthpiece to cure
playing ills is, well, ill-advised. But to ignore the possibility
that your mouthpiece may not be the best fit for you - well, that's
equally ill-advised. That said, there is no substitute for good
practice & playing techniques, and there is no mouthpiece which will
compensate for bad habits and insufficient practice.

For the original questioner, I recommend trying a Bach 3D. My
all-around mpc is a Laskey 75MD - but for my soulband gig (loud, long
& ((for me)) high) I use a Bach 3D. I can do everything on the Laskey
that I do on the Bach, but the Bach really aids my endurance, and the
somewhat brighter sound is appropriate for this gig. I tried a Bach
3E, but it was too shallow for me. If someone's interested, the 3E is
for sale in near-mint condition.
