Some of us have been following the courageous flight by TPIN’s own Jim
Klages with MS. I personally found the story inspirational on many fronts
including my own comeback from a stroke 2 ½ years ago
  More recently,
however, a colleague of mine was also diagnosed with MS and I’m finding it’s
much more common than I ever realized.

I was specifically inspired however, by both Jim’s artistry with the Cornet,
and the various forms of the trailers that have evolved since the first
publication by Jim. Unfortunately I was not able to view the ITG
presentation due to other business commitments, but now the film of that is
available for a modest $25 tax deductable (OK, at least in the US) donation
to the International Documentary Association (IDA) which provides various
grants and donations for films such as this. The Director & Producer, Sam
Karp, sent a note recently which comments:

<CLIP>

Films take an enormous amount of time to produce and I'm struggling to
balance it with my day job. So far, I've already worked on HEALED for two
and a half years. Most films take 3-5 years on average, but I expect to be
finished on the early side of that range.

Filmmakers rely on scattered grants and donations to keep their projects
afloat. So I kindly reiterate my request that you consider a tax-exempt
donation of $25. I will send you a copy of the DVD with the trailer
included with the ITG presentation. It was a successful presentation. I'm
certain you will all enjoy it and gain valuable insight into Jim Klages's
life and Gonstead chiropractic as it helped Jim with his MS symptoms.

The requested amount of $25 is tax-deductible *IF* you make your checks
payable to:

International Documentary Association

...in the subject line of your check, also be sure to write: "c/o HEALED by
Sam Karp." That way, the IDA will know toward which film you have
contributed.

Please send all checks to (I will deliver them personally to IDA):

Sam Karp

For those of us who use PayPal for transactions, Sam will also work with the
IDA to accept donations using the PayPal link on:

www.samkarp.net/healed.html

In order to secure the DVD, however, please send Sam an email directly
stating:

1) the amount you sent

2) under what name it was sent

Sam will confirm the donation with the IDA and ship you the DVD(s)

Sorry if this seems like a long advertisement, but in fact it’s just my
reflection on something trumpet-related that I found personally inspiring.
I’ve ordered mine and an additional copy that will be a gift to a friend.
You might want to view the trailer and decide if it’s a holiday gift for
someone you know who either plays an instrument, or is facing their own
personal challenges. I’d even send one to Boozo if I knew who the heck he
was

BTW, the trailer is also on the website: www.samkarp.net/healed.html

Peace.
