In the CD cover for Tine Thing Helseth, Malcolm MacDonald, a British
music critic says something about Hummel that I have never heard
before:
"..but Hummel later revised it a semitone lower into E flat, the same
key as the Haydn concerto".
Was there ever found such a version?
Btw, on page 15 in his book about Weidinger, Reine Dahlquist says the following:
"This concerto is written for trumpet in E, and so Weidinger must have
aquired a new trumpet."
Dahlquist do not mention anything later in his book about an E flat version?
