This brings up a question for me. Glenn's comments lead me to think that a
5C is a larger piece than a 3C and therefore produces a darker sound.

Others on the list have mentioned that a 3C was a good lead piece.
This is a contradiction of my belief that the smaller the number, the larger
the mouthpiece inside cup diameter. I thought that the numbering system was
that a 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10-1/2 were decreasing in inside cup
diameter size and that the alpha characters referred to the cup depth. A C
cup being deeper than an E cup for example. From this; I conclude that a 5C
should be smaller than a 3C. Do I have a correct idea of what's going on
here? I need education.
