[TPIN] buying a 'c' trumpet

I did a fare amount of orchestral work 'back in the day' when I was playing
professionally, as well as in school and when busy taking auditions. I also
worked for a few years as principal with an orchestra down in latin america...
I used C Trumpet for most, if not all, of this work. In spite of that, I
swear I've never played a C Trumpet that I *really* liked!!! They always
felt bitchy where intonation was concerned, and I never like the sound and
feel as much as I did the Bb.
So why did I use it? Peer pressure? Probably! I guess I felt that in order
to "fit in" with the orchestral scene, that you had to be playing a C.
Maybe a I had to reach middle age to start thinking for myself. (Oooops!
Forgot... My wife does that for me know <ggg> )
